San Francisco

This body of work was the beginning of my fascination with coastal structures. I discovered Stinson Beach just North of the golden gate bridge and was immediately taken with its wonderful eclectic buildings that seem to have just evolved.

In its day it was a mecca for hippies and they built their make shift eclectic dwellings out of old railway carriages and reclaimed sheds. It now has quite a different feel, shabby chic became fashionable and gentrification took place. It still has traces of its hobo history.
